Kitchens in Wellington: what to expect

Wellington runs on the equestrian calendar. The Winter Equestrian Festival brings a seasonal population into the village from roughly January through April, and for homeowners near Palm Beach Point, Grand Prix Village and the showgrounds, that window is either the busiest time of year or the period the house is rented out. Either way it is the worst time to have a kitchen torn apart. Most of our Wellington projects are scheduled to finish before the season starts or to run through the summer once it ends.

Where a smaller kitchen forces compromise, here the useful question is usually whether to add a second work zone — a beverage station, a baking area, a butler's pantry between kitchen and dining — rather than how to fit everything along one wall.

Association review is a real factor in the gated communities. Requirements differ between neighborhoods, and the practical effect is on timing rather than design, so we get the submittal moving early. Interior-only kitchen and bath work usually clears quickly.
